Jeppesen rocks Fort Carson
In conjunction with the Colorado Consortium for Earth and Space Science Education (Challenger Learning Center) and Radio Disney, Jeppesen/Boeing was the title sponsor of a high-energy STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program that used Disney characters to provide military children with an entertaining, educational program. Over 2000 military kids and their families participated in STEM ROCKS! at Fort Carson military base in Colorado Springs recently.
Disney provided interactive programming including singing, dancing and STEM-themed games and activities and the Challenger Learning Center provided planetarium shows and rocket building activities.
Jeppesen was approached by Radio Disney about sponsoring an event. They had already contacted the Challenger Learning Center and they were on-board. Our relationship with the military and especially Fort Carson drove the STEM ROCKS! event earlier at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs and later this summer at Buckley AFB in Denver.
Funding for the program was provided by Boeing through a grant from the Colorado Global Corporate Citizenship program.
