Jeppesen supports international learning program

Seven employees recently gave back to the Denver community by serving as volunteer judges at the World Affairs Challenge, an academic program that challenges middle and high school students to think about their relationship to the rest of the world, while taking part in a fun, one-day tournament.

The tournament builds teamwork, leadership, research, critical thinking, public speaking and problem solving skills, while strengthening students’ understanding of global affairs.

The 2013 event focused on technology and innovation in global development. Students from around Colorado researched and gave formal team presentations that concluded with their recommendations for addressing the challenges associated with this topic.

The students were then split up into teams representing various schools and participated in the collaborative question event. They discussed a parable in an open, spontaneous setting and presented their solutions to the judges.

Jeppesen has been the title sponsor of the World Affairs Challenge for several years and was presented with a certificate recognizing our long-standing financial and volunteer support.
