Jeppesen races for a cause

Ten colleagues and their families recently participated in a 10K or 5K charity race organized by Singapore Airlines. The race was in support of the local Community Chest. Their programs raise funds for Singapore’s many social service organizations. Their 226 programs help over 300,000  people including children with special needs reach their potential, adults with disabilities to integrate into society, relationships of families in difficulty to stay strong and the elderly to age graciously in the community.

Prior to race day, employees trained with experienced runner Sridhar Madduri.  The team was excited that everyone was able to complete the race and are planning to continue to train for additional events.

According to Peter Andersson, director of client management for the Singapore office, “It was a bit special to run in 30 degree Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures with high humidity, so the race started just at sunrise. We were so happy that everyone finished the race.”

The race was a family event with the kids receiving medals from Singapore Airline’s pilots and cabin crew.
