ZBAA / Beijing Capital - Please note the CAAC will not accept ZBAA landing applications from 01-03 March during National People’s Congress, and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference periods. In addition no take-off or landing applications at ZBAA during 13-16 March except for participants in these conferences. If the flight is in connection with these conferences, please remark this in the application and provide official letters to CAAC at the time of application.

Canada will observe Daylight Saving Time on 11 March, 2018.

New requirement for business travelers to enter Canada, which does exempt US citizens.

Crew entry requirement now in effect
Visa-exempt foreign nationals are expected to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens, and travelers with a valid Canadian visa. Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, and Canadian permanent residents cannot apply for an eTA.

The Mexican DGAC has prohibited individuals from carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Phones on board of any aircraft due to the risk of explosions without any advance notice.

Bahamas, Bermuda, Cuba and Haiti will observe Daylight Saving Time on 11 March, 2018.
Bahamas Civil Aviation bans all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones from aircraft travelling in the Bahamas. Devices may not be transported by passengers or crew on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked baggage on flights to, from, or within the commonwealth of the Bahamas and cannot be shipped as air cargo.

EASTERN EUROPE AND TURKEY
UKKK / Kiev Zhuliany - The UEFA Champions League Final slot clearance request processing will start once both teams have been announced. Official closing date for slot applications is 23 May. Only changes to issued slots are allowed after this date.
Due to expected high demand of airport capacity between 25 May and 27 May, and limited amount of parking, please be advised overnight and long-term stops will not be provided for aircraft. Aircraft Operators are recommended to request overnight/long-term stops at other Ukrainian or neighboring states airports.
UMMS / Minsk 2- Various night closures planned in 2018. Please check NOTAMS for full details prior to planning any trips to this Aerodrome.
HLLM / Tripoli Mitiga - Ongoing unrest in the region has forced the Airport to suspend all flights UFN. Please check NOTAMS for updates to the above, as the situation remains changeable.
FAA/EASA advisories and restrictions remain in place for operations into, out of, and over the following countries and their associated FIRs.
Afghanistan Ukraine, Somalia, Mali, Ethiopia, Sudan. Egypt-Sinai Peninsula Libya.

8.33 kHz channel spacing radio requirements in Europe – Effective 4th January 2018
According to the Article 5(4) of the Commission Regulation (EU) 1079/2012 from 01 January 2018 an operator shall not operate an aircraft in the airspace where carriage of radio is required unless the aircraft radio equipment has the 8.33 kHz channel spacing capability. This provision applies to aircraft operated in the controlled airspace of Norway, Switzerland and EU Member States.
Consequently, from 04 January 2018 (AIRAC 1801), non-8.33 equipped IFR operated flights will not be allowed in the airspace of the following States:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta (except local traffic within TMA) and Poland.
Specific conditions are applicable for the other states; flight operators are required to check national AIP’s before operating in these states.
Operation of non-8.33 equipped State aircraft in the airspace of Norway, Switzerland and EU Member States, below FL 195 is permitted under specific conditions; operators are required to check national AIPs.

EPWA / Warsaw – GA/BA Parking restrictions – 06 December 2017 - 15 March 2018
Only 10 GA/BA parking stands available during above dates due to seasonal reductions in permitted traffic. Parking and slots will be issued on a ‘first come, first served’ basis with parking refusal possible. Please request parking asap.
LSGG/Geneva -Geneva will be host to the annual International Motor Show 08-18 March 2018.
During this time slots and services at LSGG will be at a premium. Please plan accordingly.

LFMN / Helicopter Mode-S requirements
From 1st May 2018 in accordance with the order of 17 October 2017, helicopters outbound from or inbound to Nice-Côte d’Azur aerodrome (LFMN),operating in general air traffic as per VFR rules, shall be equipped with a mode S transponder and meet the requirements of elementary surveillance.
The requirements in article 1 do not apply to:
- State-owned, -rent or -chartered helicopters;
- helicopters in an emergency situation;
- helicopters carrying out medical flights or evacuations.
The operator of a helicopter not subjected to the exemptions listed in article 2.1, who does not meet the requirements in article 1, and wishing to undertake a flight outbound from or inbound to Nice-Côte d’Azur aerodrome, shall obtain previously the agreement from the French South-East air navigation service. The request shall be sent by email to the following address with a prior notice of at least 3 working days: firstname.lastname@example.org
The request shall be duly justified. The agreement from the French South-East air navigation service may be subject to compliance with certain constraints.
LFMN/Nice, LFMD/Cannes – 13-16 March 2018 the MIPIM property show will be taking place in Cannes. Expect both LFMN and LFMD Airports to be busy during the above dates.
UAE – Dubai Airports Implement Permit issuance charge
Effective immediately (Feb 2018), the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA - whom cover both OMDB and OMDW) have implemented a permit fee of $115 USD for each and every permit issued. If applying for a landing permit through a local agent, expect an additional application fee of approximately $70 USD.
CAA India will be closed on March 02, 29 and 30, 2018. Please ensure any permit applications are process before this date.
