AUSTRALIA

Jet Aviation announced on 2 May 2018 that it has completed its acquisition of Hawker Pacific.

Jet Aviation will add 19 locations across Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East to its global network. These locations will include 7 FBOs, 14 MRO facilities and over 400,000sq feet of hangar space.  More than 800 employees will also become a part of Jet Aviation.  More details will be announced in the months to follow on how this transition will occur and if there will be any changes to FBO names or contact lists.

 ASIA

 BRUNEI

Insan Airport Services (IAS) can obtain an overflight permit in usually 24hrs but they will need to have the Full Schedule with the ETD and ETA as well as the airways and route and also a copy of the Aircraft COA,COR, and aircraft insurance documents. The Brunei CAA gives a 72hrs window of approval.

 CAAC

The CAAC is closed for the Dragon Boat Festival Holiday 16 -18 June 2018.

ALL landing and overflying will not be processed during this period except ambulance, diplomatic flights. Operators must make all necessary arrangements in advance.

 Hainan Province ZJHK/ZJQH/ZJSY

Beginning 1 May 2018, the Ministry of Public Security and the National Bureau of Immigration have decided to implement the visa-free policy in the Hainan Province for the entry of 59 nations (which will include the United States, UK, Canada and many European countries such as Germany, Italy, Norway and Switzerland).  Ordinary passports can be used to allow entry for 30 days without a VISA.

 ZBAA / Beijing Capital - China Customs Inspection & Quarantine in ZBAA has stated as of May 2018 all food and beverages (including alcohol) from inbound flights cannot be offloaded by the caterer for storing, chilling or reloading purposes.  Caterers can only offload the catering equipment and laundry items and all food items must remain on board the aircraft.  ZBAA Airport Authority further states that due to new safety regulations foam boxes are no longer allowed to be used as delivery containers for offloading any item.

 ZSQD / Liuting - The 2018 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit (SCO Summit) will be held on 08-09 June in Qingdao China as released by CAA China. Non-SCO Summit participating business/private jets are NOT permitted to land/take-off at ZSQD/Qingdao Airport. Participating business/private jets shall provide sponsor letter issued by the Summit Committee. Parking for participating business/private jets only limits in 2 hours, except government flights or VVIP flights proved by the committee. Only 2 slots per hour will be approved.  PHTO Hilo Intl / PHKO Kona

Hawaii's Kilauea volcano continues to erupt and spread lava across portions of the Big Island of Hawaii destroying 82 homes in its path. Marines have been placed on standby status to aide to in rescue efforts if needed.  Hawaiian officials have warned pilots to stay away from the volcano and a localized 5 mile TFR was created centered on the volcano after a plume of ash from the Kilauea volcano rose 12,000 feet into the air earlier this month. Hawaiian Government Officials have stated that the international airports in Hilo (PHTO) and Kona (PHKO) remain open and all flights into the Hawaiian Islands are operating normally.

SOUTH AMERICA

 BRAZIL

 As of 28 May 2018 eight airports in Brazil are running out of fuel due to a strike. According to Infraero - fuel stocks are low at airports in SBSJ, SBUL, SBIL, SBKG, SBJU, SBAR, SBJP and SBTE.  Please reconfirm fuel prior to flight.

CENTRAL AMERICA

2018 hurricane outlook according to the National Weather Service - the Atlantic hurricane season is from June 1 – November 30. This includes the Caribbean Sea as well. In the Eastern Pacific Ocean, hurricane season started on 15 May and lasts until 30 November.

NORTH AMERICA AND CARRIBEAN

CANADA

Crew entry requirement now in effect

Visa-exempt foreign nationals are expected to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens, and travelers with a valid Canadian visa. Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, and Canadian permanent residents cannot apply for an eTA.

The Canadian Business Aviation Association will meet on June 12 – 14 at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, Ontario. The airports in the area are CYKF and CYYZ.Consult the local NOTAMS and the FBO’s for assistance to confirm services if operating during this event.

CYUL, CYMX, CYHU / Montreal – Canadian F1 Grand Prix – 8-10 June

Grand Prix du Canada 2018 will take place on June 8 - 10 at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada. Airports in the area are CYUL, CYMX and CYHU and one should consult with the local handlers if operating during this time frame to ensure ramp parking and services.

CYUL / Montreal – Limited General Aviation permitted 15 May - 30 June

CYUL is limiting General Aviation aircraft from 15 May 15 – 30 June, 2018 with a ban that affects arrivals between 1600L - 2000L with the exception of June 7 - 10, 2018 (Montreal Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend). Normal operations during this event weekend only. Consult with the local handlers and check airport NOTAMS.

MEXICO

2018 hurricane outlook according to the National Weather Service - the Atlantic Ocean hurricane season is from 1 June – 30 November . This includes the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico as well. In the Eastern Pacific Ocean, hurricane season started on 15 May and lasts until 30 November.

MMBT / Bahias De Huatulco Intl - RWY 07/25 Closed daily except on Sundays from 0100 – 1200z through June 30 per NOTAM.

MMPR /  Puerto Vallarta  - RWY 04/22 closed daily from 0500 – 1030z through 2 June per NOTAM.                                

Aircraft operators are reminded to always have the proper multiple entry authorization or applying permits along with the mandatory updated aircraft documents on board the plane for the Mexican Authorities are randomly checking such documents at different airports.

The Mexican DGAC has prohibited individuals from carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Phones on board of any aircraft due to the risk of explosions without any advance notice.

U.S.A.

KBGR / Bangor Intl, Maine - Effective 10 June 2018, KBGR, Bangor Customs is no longer 24/7.  New customs hours are: 0600L - 2200L. Overtime is potentially available but customs needs 3 weeks notice to arrange and will only be assessed on a case by case basis.

BAHAMAS

Bahamas Civil Aviation bans all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones from aircraft travelling in the Bahamas. Devices may not be transported by passengers or crew on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked baggage on flights to, from, or within the commonwealth of the Bahamas and cannot be shipped as air cargo.

MYEM / Governors Harbor - Airport Avgas and Jet A1 is not available through 22 June 2018 per NOTAM.

RUSSIA

HRYR / Kigali - Daily between 0800Z - 1300Z Aerodrome will be closed due to work in progress for Runway upgrade from Cat I to Cat II. This restriction is estimated to remain in place until 24 June 2018.

EHAM / Schiphol - Airport will be working on the East Kilo Apron redesign from 30 April 30 – 27 July 2018. Aircraft parking and taxiing procedures/restrictions will apply during this time period. Review the NOTAMS and consult with the local handlers for assistance if needed. Rotterdam/EHRD could be used as an alternate airport during this period.

Slots for AC rated QC1 and above are likely not to be approved.

In previous years, certain aircraft types were exempt from Night Noise restrictions, however, for the Summer 2018 period this is now not the case as the CAA have now imposed a movement restriction also. As shown in the supplement, aircraft rated up to QC1 can still operate depending on the movement limitations at that time. Aircraft rated above QC1 are unlikely to receive slot approval during the Night Period (please see the example below).

ACL (Slot Coordination) and MAG (Stansted Airport Authority) have allocated the community of FBO Companies at Stansted a limited number of movements per week/ month which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

EGGW / London Luton Airport – Noise restrictions (Day and Night) – 1 June – 30 September 2018 No ad hoc movements – including general aviation, scheduled commercial, and maintenance flights – will be permitted (night) 2200Z - 0559Z

* No aircraft changes to confirmed slots that would involve replacing an aircraft with a QC value of 1 or less to an aircraft that exceeds that value during 0600Z-2159Z
* No non-emergency diversion flights will be permitted 0600Z-2159Z
 

FRANCE

LFPB / Paris Le Bourget - JUNE 2018 – LFPB Closed to ALL traffic except MEDEVAC:

LFSB / Basel -    11 - 17 June 2018, LFSB will be hosting the Basel Art Fair. During this time the Airport will be heavily congested. If services are required please give your handler as much notice as possible, as there will be limited capacity.
